1. Summary

BPG: EVEN IN THE DARK collects no personal data. The app has no user accounts, contacts no server, and contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking of any kind. The game runs entirely offline. Everything the app stores stays on your device.

In App Store Connect this app is declared as "Data Not Collected".

2. Data we collect

None. We do not collect, receive, transmit, or sell:

names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any contact details;

accounts, passwords, or user identifiers;

location data;

contacts, photos, microphone, camera, calendar, or health data;

advertising identifiers (IDFA), device identifiers, or device fingerprints;

usage statistics, gameplay telemetry, or crash reports.

We operate no server that receives data from the app, and we have no means of accessing your device.

3. What is stored on your device

So that the game can remember your progress, the app stores a small number of technical values in local storage inside its own app container (the embedded web view's localStorage). These values never leave your device.

Stored value: Chapter progress (bpg:progress:v1:<number>)

Purpose: Resume play where you left off

Stored value: Last opened chapter (bpg:last-level)

Purpose: Return you to the current chapter

Stored value: Selected character (bpg:character:v1)

Purpose: Remember your hero choice and matching dialogue

Stored value: Campaign score (bpg:campaign-score:v1)

Purpose: Show your overall campaign result

Stored value: Finale collection state (bpg:collection-finale:v1)

Purpose: Remember items gathered in the final chapter

Stored value: Music mute setting (bpg:music-muted)

Purpose: Remember your audio preference

Stored value: Intro markers (bpg:intro-begin, bpg:intro-done)

Purpose: Avoid replaying the intro sequence

These are technical game values. They contain no personal information, cannot identify you, and are not linked to any profile.

4. Device permissions

The app requests no iOS permissions. It does not use location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, notifications, Bluetooth, or face recognition.

5. Network use and offline operation

The entire game — graphics, sound, music, and code — ships inside the app. The app makes no network requests and works without an internet connection. We use no cloud saves, no synchronisation, and no iCloud storage.

6. No advertising, analytics, or tracking

The app contains:

no advertising and no ad networks;

no analytics tools (no measurement SDKs of any kind);

no third-party crash reporting;

no tracking across apps or websites.

Because no tracking takes place, the app never presents an App Tracking Transparency prompt.

7. Purchases and monetisation

The app contains no in-app purchases, subscriptions, virtual currency, or paid features.

8. Data collected by Apple

If you download the app from the App Store, Apple may collect its own data about downloads and installations and, where you have chosen to share analytics with developers, anonymised crash and usage reports. Those processes belong to Apple and are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not by this document. Any aggregated, anonymised reports Apple makes available to a developer do not identify individual users.

9. Deleting your data

Because all data is stored only on your device, you control it completely:

Reset game progress: use the in-game chapter restart.

Delete everything: remove the app from your device. Doing so deletes all of its local content, including saved games.

We keep no backups of your game data and cannot restore it after deletion.

10. Children

The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children. We create no profiles, show no advertising, and provide no social features or player-to-player communication. Accordingly, the app does not trigger parental-consent requirements under COPPA or the corresponding GDPR provisions on children's data — no processing of personal data takes place at all.

11. Your rights

Data protection law — including the GDPR in the EU and the CCPA/CPRA in California — gives you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict the processing of, and port your personal data, and the right not to have your data sold.

We collect and hold no personal data, so we hold nothing to disclose or erase in response to a request, and we have no means of identifying you. The locally stored game data is deleted by you directly (section 9). We have never sold or shared personal data.

12. Security

Game data remains inside the app's protected container on your device and is covered by the standard iOS app sandboxing and encryption mechanisms. Because no data is transmitted anywhere, there is no risk of interception in transit.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app's capabilities change. The current version is always available at the link given on the App Store listing. The effective date at the top of this document shows ...
